OK, at this point I'm going to get over there Tuesday for lunch. Looks like I could go Wed or Thursday night if anyone is is planning on going, but don't really want to go hang by myself...

Not sure what my schedule will be yet. It could be a mix of running up there over my lunch hour to grab a growler and going after work. Kind of depends on what my work load is.

Picked up a growler of Twisted Jim barleywine over my lunch hour today. This is what Kent and I voted for best beer at Winterfest. Anyone plan on going Tuesday? They are doing punch cards, and if you get a growler on Mon-Fri, you get Saturday's growler free. Was hoping between all of us we could fill the card in.

So I ended up getting all six growlers that week. Sampled all of them at the bar, pretty amazing beers. I have a couple of them I'd be willing to sell if someone wants them. I'm offering up:

•Wine Barrel Aged Batch 1000 (Double IPA) – I thought this was very good. I must have been a white wine barrel, I thought the wine taste was subtle, but the oakiness was dry and blended well with the hops.

•Wine Barrel Aged Grand Cru – pretty sure this was a red wine barrel. Very tasty stuff. Strong.

Eric already claimed the growler of Port barrel aged Odin (Baltic Porter).

If anyone wants to buy one of these from me, let me know and I'll bring to the meeting on Friday. They weren't cheap - $25 if you have an empty growler to give me, or $28.50 if you don't. But, I will say, it's not very often you get beers this good in growlers. Town Hall uses a special machine to bottle their growlers, so they hold pressure very well, and don't go flat. Even after many years, as those of you that had the 2007 Twisted Jim barleywine last year at my house will attest.

Anyway - let me know if you want one of these beauties. If nobody wants them, I guess I'll have to drink them. Oh well.....

YES!!! One of my favoriet Town Hall beers being released next week!!!

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Minneapolis on August 9th. Doppler radar has indicated a rotating wall cloud with strong winds capable of tipping all unseemly beers on any outdoor patio. Damaging hail, lightening and raucous laughter will accompany this deluge. If you are in the path of this storm you must seek shelter at Town Hall immediately to ride out the beast. Although we believe this T-Storm will leave a swath of destruction you may also experience an orange peel shower with a coriander rainbow. So join us at Town Hall at 5pm to weather out the storm and share memories of T-storms gone by.

All Hail the Thunderstorm!
