2010 MN State Fair

This isn't your Grandma's blue ribbon! As part of *The Great Minnesota Get Together* the Minnesota Homebrewers Association http://mnbrewers.com and St.Paul Homebrewers Club http://www.sphbc.org will be hosting the 8th Annual Minnesota State Fair Homebrewed Beer, Mead and Cider Competition.

Get your entries together! On-line registration will be open from July 20nd to August 6th. You can drop off your entries in person at either MidwestSupplies or Northern Brewer between July 30th and August 6th. Mail-in entries will be accepted Midwest Supplies only.

Judging will take place on Friday, evening August 20th, AND Saturday, August 21st, on the State Fair grounds at the Creative Activities Annex. Best of Show judging and awards will be held during the Minnesota State Fair, on Saturday, August 28th at 11 a.m. on the Education Building?s outdoor stage.

So I'm assuming you won't be judging the competition then? I was actually interested in stewarding or shadowing someone. I sent an email in to sign up for the April 2011 BJCP exam!

Registration is now open! I probably need to get out the old beer gun and fill some bottles from my kegs this weekend.

I should be free, I need to check if I have any beers that are clean and ready to use. Maybe about 7:30 or so?

*edit* - that should be clean bottles, not beers. (all my beers are clean)

After tasting my kegged beers, I decided to hold off on putting any in the Fair this year. My mild is over the hill, the scottish has diacetyl, and the coffee stout has some twang to it. I only have one that is worthwhile and I'm too lazy to make a trip to Midwest tonight. I leave tomorrow for WI and a wedding... Oh well.
