Summary of 1/09/09 JAB Meeting
Location: Eric's House
Attendees:
1. January – Club Dues
a. Jim collected the 2009 club dues from members, $15 each.
b. Jim also handed out new membership cards, and other items to post/put up in public to promote the club.
2. February meeting
a. Looks like several members will be attending Winterfest in St. Paul on Feb. 6. Meeting will probably remain on Feb. 6, but will need a host. JD said he might be able to host. Watch forum for details on when and where February meeting will be.
3. March meeting
a. Group Brew: Stouts. Brew any type of stout for the March meeting. Mash Paddle winner will come from one of the stouts.
b. Dave and Eric will give presentation on How To Enter Homebrewing Competitions
4. Competitions
a. Upper Mississippi Mashout – January
b. Great Northern Brew Ha-Ha – February, entry deadline is 1/30/09.
c. March 21: March Mashness, St. Cloud. Entry deadline is ???
d. Club Only Competitions:
· January – Belgians
· March/April – beers over 1.080, entry deadline is 3/27/09
5. Club Calendar
a. Dave created and handed out a 2009 club calendar with meeting, competition and event dates on it. Will be updated and handout out each meeting.
b. Dave also will look into putting the club calendar online via Google or Yahoo, whichever seems to be best. This will enable easier updating and accessing the calendar.
6. Club Outing: Rock Bottom Brewpub
a. Chris will look into setting up a tour with the brewer at Rock Bottom in Minneapolis. Club went there last year, but was stiffed by the brewer who did not show up. Date to be determined.
7. Officer positions
a. Club voted on 2009 officers. Everything remains status quo for 2009:
