3.      BYO Subscription Drive

a.      The subscription drive was successful resulting in some cash for our club. We should have enough to buy out the shares on the apple press and make it club property.

4.      Upcoming Club Style of the Month

a.      July: Saisons – open recipe, but should adhere as close to BJCP style guidelines as possible. Would like to do blind tasting.

b.      October: Oktoberfest/Marzen – open recipe.

5.      AHA Big Brew Day – May 2

a.      Saisons or Milds, see AHA website for details

b.      Bill was planning to attend.

6.      Town Hall Blessing Of The Bock

a.      Eric, Kent and Dave attended the annual Blessing of The Bock at Town Hall Brewpub in Minneapolis on May 2. Fun time, great beer. Eric and Kent got to break in their new Pint Club Memberships.

7.      Carver County Fair

a.      The Fair has contacted our club and wants 2 judges from our club to judge the beer entries. This includes $40, entry to the fair, and money for mileage. Judges cannot have beers entered in the fair. So far it looks like Brett and Bill might be interested. Judging would take place Wednesday morning, August 5th.

b.      This is a good thing for our club and may allow us to expand categories for the 2010 fair. Ultimately a sanctioned AHA competition that our club coordinates and runs???

8.      Minnesota Homebrewers @ Rahr

a.      Chris mentioned that the Minnesota Homebrewers club is having a meeting/tour at Rahr Malting in June. It might be possible for members of our club to join in on the tour.

9.      Brau Bros. Fest

a.      Brau Bros is having a fest at the brewery as part of Lucan Days the first weekend in June. There is to be tasting of cask Brau beers and camping at the brewery for homebrewers. Dave M. has indicated he may attend and camp. If anyone else is interested in going, contact Dave.

10.  “Beer Wars” Movie

a.      Several members attended the movie and live discussion following on April 16. Movie was interesting and informative. Probably available online or on DVD soon. Those who attended recommend checking it out if you haven’t seen it.

11.  Presentation: JD on “Experimentation”
