I have been brewing for the last 9-10 years. I think I started my
sophomore year of college. Started off brewing extract beers, with little
success. Only since the last two years have I had beer that I would eagerly
share with others...ie they were drinkable.
The biggest turning point for my brewing was when I started listening to "The
Brewing Network" and I got the gall to start doing yeast starters, temp control,
and of course ALL GRAIN!
I think I am on my 5th all grain beer...First one, didn't turn out so good. Will
bring it to the meeting, for the full 5 gallons is still in the keg,
conditioning! The second was a blonde ale, it got very drinkable with age. The
third was my Belgian Tripple. The 4th, my cream ale, not so good, but drinkable.
The last beer brewed is a Double IPA, that I am enjoying. Will bring a few
bottles to the party, to give everyone a taste of what they are up against!
I love gadgets, and have many...Stir plate, 4 keg refrigerator, lager fridge,
counter pressure bottle filler, Pro-mash, refractomometer, ph meter, and a
2-litter flask.
