Profile of Dave Manley

· Favorite Beers
o Scotch/Scottish Ales
o Dopplebocks/Maibocks
o Cask/Wood aged beers
o Local Brewpub beers
o Any creative and well made beer!
· Beers Brewed
o Very wide variety, more lagers now that I have a lagering fridge.
o I did Midwest extract kits for the first couple of years, then switched to partial mash and developing my own recipes. Then did the countertop partial mash method. Have now switched to all grain and love the results I’ve been getting with it.
o Have won a few medals at some homebrewing competitions, but enter competitions mainly for feedback on my beers.
o A few people have “commissioned” me to brew beer for them for an event (i.e. wedding) or just to have for themselves.
· Special Techniques
o Yeast Starters
o Wort Oxygenation
o Counter top Partial Mash method
o Oak aged beers
o Lagering
o Mini Kegging using Tap-A-Draft system
o Cellaring vintage beer, both commercial and my own.
o Demonstrations – did a homebrewing demonstration at my hometown Ribfest in September 2009.
